Classical Music Club encourages members to explore spirituality through performance, listening, and discussion of classical music. The Classical Music Club hosts monthly programs such as book discussions, presentations, and member performances at UUFR. Come, bring your songbooks, voices, and instruments for an evening of fellowship, music and songs from the folk era and acoustic music tradition. Everyone is encouraged to come share songs and pick together in an informal and low-key atmosphere. Meets second Fridays, 7:30 p.m. in the Clara Barton room. Periodically UUFR musicians share our love of music with people who are in need, such as those with AIDS or those with memory loss, by singing and playing in community venues such as retirement centers or nursing homes. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Performing Artists Series is an occasional presentation of outstanding area musicians in programs of classical and pops music. Past concerts have included the Quercus Piano Quartet, a flute-piano duo, a guitar-soprano duo, and the Raleigh Jazz Orchestra, among others. The UUFR Choir welcomes everyone! The choir sings traditional and contemporary SATB (Soprano-Alto-Tenor-Bass) music from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings, 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. in the Sanctuary. The choir performs at the 11:00 a.m. Sunday service twice a month from September to June.
