Serving with our Neighbors in Southeast Raleigh

As part of the Interfaith Food Shuttle Mobile Market, Martin St. Baptist Church’s Blessings in Bags will take place on Saturday morning, January 13. All volunteers are asked to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 am. Parking is available in the lot on the State Street side of the sanctuary. There will be a brief orientation for first time volunteers prior to beginning the preparation and distribution process. Weather permitting, preparation of food boxes for distribution will take place outside, in the parking lot facing Tarboro Street. The pickup process will be in a drive thru setting. In the event of rain, the preparation process will be indoors. Current CDC COVID guidance indicates wearing a mask is optional. Masks will be available as will aprons, and gloves. Please dress comfortably. It is important you wear closed toe shoes, a cap, hat or other head covering. If you are not feeling well, please wait to serve at another time. Our goal is to safely, effectively and efficiently prepare food boxes for pickup by members of the Wake County community. The distribution process will begin no later than 10:00 am. Water will be available, and you are encouraged to take breaks as needed. By volunteering you are making life changing differences in the lives of many individuals and assisting in decreasing both hunger and food insecurity. Your participation in this needed service is greatly appreciated and valued. We look forward to UUFR members and friends serving along our friends at Martin Street Baptist Church!
