Every Sunday we offer youth group for our teenagers to gather to building community through games, service, and meaningful discussions. We also offer additional programs for High Schoolers to make a deeper commitment to serving our community or exploring their spiritual beliefs.
6th – 8th graders meet in the Teen Cave during second service for reflection, games, and faith exploration led.
In the Fall the group will explore the values of UU Community through games and service projects. In the Winter and Spring they will explore world religions with visits to different faith centers.
Please note: At the 9:30 a.m. service we are extending Chalice Chapel up to 6th grade. You can learn more about this program here.
Starting September 8th High Schoolers meet Sundays from 12:45 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Teen Cave led by Family Ministry director Dana. We share joys and sorrows then play group games, share deep conversations, and go on adventures ranging from stream clean ups to laser tag.
This year we are launching a new program for high schoolers to explore the ways we can live out our faith to care for our world. There are three components to the program. First, teens will participate in monthly service projects and reflection period based on Joanna Macy’s the Work that Reconnects as a group on 3rd Sundays from 12:45 – 2:30 p.m. Second, they will commit to volunteering for additional two activities with one of our Justice Ministries (ex: serving meal at Women’s shelter or Habitat for Humanity build). Finally at the end of the year teens will share a creative piece such as a painting, poem, or brief written piece to reflect on their year’s experience. Teens can anticipate earning at least 16 hours of volunteer hours over the year. Program starts September 21st and goes until May 17th.
During services, teens have the opportunity to support Family Ministry and the Worship as paid assistants. Teens will work 2-4 Sundays a month supporting programming for infants to elementary aged youth or supporting A/V needs in the Sanctuary. Accepted teens who are 14 years old will be paid $10 an hour. A zoom interview with Em is required for this program. Please email Em at if you would like to schedule an interview.
We invite teens to also attend service. In the back of the sanctuary we have soul work for all ages with coloring and stitching materials and fidgets.
In addition teens are invited to volunteer in helping with service in the choir, as a worship associate, or greeter. Email to learn more.
We are launching a new program this year called Jr. Buildings and Grounds (B&G) Club on 1st Sundays of each month after Time for All Ages. Interested 7th-12th graders can sign up each month for one of 8 slots to participate in projects around UU Fellowship to learn about how volunteers take care of our spaces. Learn about our secret maintenance closet, help tend to garden beds, and help paint fences!
