As Unitarian Universalists, we are committed to creating a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world. Here are some of the things we are doing and some of the ways you can help us.
Almost every Friday morning, 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon, UUFR members collect food and other items to help some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Collection is in UUFR’s back parking lot, or up top in case of rain weather. We support a wide range of programs to feed the hungry through in-kind donations and volunteering opportunities: Urban Ministries Food Pantry and Helen Wright Center, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Grocery Bags for Seniors and Martin Street Mobile Market, Panera Day-End Dough-Nation, Bryant Street Community Engagement Center and CROP Hunger Walk. Our ONE Wake Organizing Team facilitates our involvement in ONE Wake, a community organizing effort of more than 40 other congregations working to address affordable housing, mental health, and public transportation in Wake County. For more information, contact .
UUFR collectively donates needed items to local social justice organizations on occasion. Donation Drives may be organized by members or friends, ministry teams, or other UUFR groups. If you would like to coordinate a Donation Drive Collection, please submit the Donation Drive Request Form to the Justice Council for approval.
Each month the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh collects donations for one justice organization doing great work in the community. Donations are accepted at our monthly social justice Sunday and online all month. Scheduled offerings include the following:
