The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Raleigh has belonged to ONE Wake – – a multiracial, multicultural, multifaith community organizing coalition of more than 40 congregations and civic organizations that advocates for the common good in Wake County – – since the coalition’s founding in the fall of 2000.
ONE Wake’s current top priority is affordable housing. Wake County currently has an affordable housing deficit of more than 65,000 units. Not only the lowest income workers, but teachers, nurses, firefighters, and police officers can no longer afford to live in Wake County.
ONE Wake is proposing a plan to build 1000 affordable home and 1000 affordable rental units in Wake County to help address the county’s housing affordable housing crisis.
