As Unitarian Universalists, we are committed to creating a more compassionate, just, and sustainable world. Here are some of the things we are doing and some of the ways you can help us.
Almost every Friday morning, 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon, UUFR members collect food and other items to help some of our most vulnerable neighbors. Collection is in UUFR’s back parking lot, or up top in case of rain weather. Learn more here and on the Upcoming Events page for current information on collections and ways to get involved – please join us!
We support a wide range of programs to feed the hungry through in-kind donations and volunteering opportunities: Urban Ministries Food Pantry and Helen Wright Center, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Grocery Bags for Seniors and Martin Street Mobile Market, Panera Day-End Dough-Nation, Bryant Street Community Engagement Center and CROP Hunger Walk. Attend the UU Justice NC Friday Action Hour which takes place online every week from 11:00am-12:00pm. Rev. You can learn more about Action Hour here.
UUFR collectively donates needed items to local social justice organizations on occasion. Donation Drives may be organized by members or friends, ministry teams, or other UUFR groups.
